Appreciation of fine art and purchasing fine art in a financially sound manner are not mutually exclusive. Art collectors who conduct due diligence into a work of art’s provenance, authenticity and chain of ownership are not practicing infidelity against their favorite artist, they are practicing sound judgment. Connoisseurs of art and collectibles have every right to take financial considerations into account when making high-ticket purchases.
