Ghandi Was Far From Perfect
I recently learned that 1.5 million people were killed during the hostilities that erupted when Pakistan broke away from India. A further 7 to 8 million people abandoned their homes in what became the largest exodus in history. This violence and dislocation quickly followed the British retreat from India which Ghandi clamored for. The fact that this bit of history is not well know in the West is another example of how the media refuses to point out any blemishes of the people that it decides to canonize.
Other examples of Ghandi's shortcomings are discussed in The Power of Incremental Advantage: How Incremental Improvements Produce Dramatically Disproportionate Results.
